Manchester Airport has completed a £1 billion transformation of Terminal 2 which includes digital display solutions provided by ADXBA. The company was responsible for designing, installing, and commissioning Manchester Airport Group’s displays throughout the terminal as well as supplying ongoing support and content management services.
The extended Terminal 2 is the centrepiece of Manchester Airport’s Transformation Programme which was designed to provide the North with a modern gateway to international travel. ADXBA were approached to provide full digital display consultancy and design services for the project as Manchester Airport Group’s official “Framework Provider for Digital” (a contract that the company has retained since 2009.). This included installing a range of D6 and D12 advertising displays across the new terminal space and delivering an 81 square-metre LED “wonderwall” which forms a central feature alongside a distinctive honeycomb lighting grid in the main atrium of the departure lounge. Using the Broadsign CMS provided by ADXBA, the epic display can deliver advertising content and passenger information, act as a backdrop for live activations and provide interactive visitor experiences. ADXBA will provide content management services and both remote and on-site monitoring and service support via the in house developed “Unity” service tool as part of the ongoing contract.
